Canada Post Strike
Canada Post Strike
As you may already know, Canada Post has issued a strike notice indicating they will begin strike activity on Friday, May 23rd.
The last time a postal strike happened (less than 6 months ago), I chose to hold all orders, and waited until postal operations resumed before shipping anything. While I felt okay with this choice, in retrospect, it was probably a pretty terrible business decision.
Currently, it is not clear whether this will be a rotating strike or and all out strike, but I have a feeling things could take longer to resolve. So, this time around, I’m taking a different approach.
As of today, I will no longer be shipping with Canada Post, and will be switching to Purolator until further notice. Consequently, I am limited to shipping parcels within Canada only. Vacuum sealed, untracked letter mail will be paused until further notice. Additionally, I cannot currently offer shipping to remote locations, P.O. Boxes, or international addresses including those in the U.S. I’m looking into different shipping options which may be able to accommodate these cases, but having previously dealt with missing package shipping nightmares, I am not willing to use services without individual tracking numbers, proper insurance, and reliable customer service.*If you live in a remote location, use a P.O. Box, or have a non-Canadian address and would like to place an order, please send me an email, and I'll sort something out for you. Please be aware, this may mean holding your order for shipping until the strike resolves, and delays may be lengthy.*
I will send out an update if/ when Brine Deworks' shipping options change. Hopefully, there is a quick resolution between Canada Post Corp. and CUPW.Thanks in advance for your patience, understanding and support during these unusual circumstances.
