Canada Post Strike and US Shipping update
Canada Post Strike
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers are on a national labour strike effective Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Canada Post shipping will be unavailable until further notice. Please choose Purolator for Canadian shipping.
Purolator is limited to parcel shipping within Canada only. Vacuum sealed, untracked letter mail will be paused until further notice. Additionally, Purolator does not currently offer shipping to remote locations, or P.O. Boxes.
I will send out an update if/ when Brine Deworks' shipping options change. Hopefully, Canada Post Corp. and CUPW can reach an agreement soon. Thanks in advance for your patience, understanding and support during these unusual circumstances.
To stay informed, you can visit the Canada Post website here, and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) website here.
US Shipping
US Shipping is currently paused.
Due to the recent elimination of the De Minimus exemption, shipping to the United States has become vastly more complicated. Brine Dyeworks' yarns are all spun in Canada, thus making them CUSMA compliant (ie. no tariffs). The good news is that there are several carrier options available that can deal with this. The bad news is that setting everything up on my end will take a considerable amount of time and energy.
Additionally, there are reports that the US Congress is currently at an impass over spending bills, and there is the possibility of a federal government shutdown. This could impact customs processing by US Customs and Border Protection, leading to massive delays.
Please be patient with me while I figure this out. I will send out an update if/ when US Shipping becomes available again.
If you are unhappy with decisions your government has made, I urge you to contact your elected officials.
