The Life Chromatic

Wes Anderson has created some of my favorite films: The Life Aquatic, The Grand Budapapest Hotel, and The Darjeeling Limited, to name a few. For me, I love how these movies feel like a play or a storybook, and am always completely mesmerized by the carefully curated, ultra-memorable color palettes in his films. My goal for 2026 is to bring some of the colors from these palettes to life on yarn!

Am I the first yarn dyer to do Wes Anderson inspired yarny things? No, definitely not. But that’s the cool thing about art and creativity: it’s entirely possible to use the same inspiration and interpret things differently! I can’t wait to share my interpretations with you.


Q: Is this going to be a colorway collection?

A: I plan to curate a collection featuring several colorways inspired by multiple films, and hope to roll this out in early 2026 (tentatively sometime in February), starting with a preorder. Colorways will be available across several yarn bases. The colorway collection will be available through both ready-to-ship and dyed-to-order, and will be available from the launch date until the end of 2026. 


Q: Will there be a “club” aspect?

A: I am planning to bring back Blanket Club for 2026. Blanket Club will feature surprise bundles based on individual movies, and a new club listing will go live every two months, starting in February. More information coming soon! 

There will be no sock yarn club for 2026, but I will periodically be releasing project specific yarn kits or mini collections for patterns that I think really emulate a particular Wes Anderson film, character, set, prop or costume piece. Patterns will not be included in kits, but I will let you know where you can find them.
