Blanket Club is back for 2026!!

The Pattern: Log Cabin Scrap Blanket by Very Pink Knits, free on Ravelry (click link). This pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, and also includes a six part video tutorial and lots of online support for any questions you might have.

There are 6 instalments for this club, one for every two months, each inspired by a different Wes Anderson film.  I'll be dyeing this up on my BFL Worsted yarn base. Each instalment will have 9 x 25 g mini skeins, enough to make two log cabin squares, along with a 115g full sized bare (natural/ undyed) skein for connecting the squares and doing the border (my suggestions for yarn placement can be found here). The minis will all be semi-solid/ tonal, and may have some speckling. Colours will be exclusive to Blanket Club, unless there is a serious banger that I can't resist pulling into the main collection line-up. My goal is to have a cohesive colour scheme for the blanket as a whole, so expect to see some colours with similar vibes from instalment to instalment; check out the colour palettes I generated for an idea of what to expect.

The release schedule looks like this:

1) The Darjeeling Limited: preorder cut-off is January 31, will ship by February 16

2) Asteroid City: preorder cut-off is March 31, will ship by April 17

3) Moonrise Kingdom: preorder cut-off is May 31, will ship by June 15

4) Fantastic Mr. Fox: preorder cut-off is July 31, will ship by August 17

5) The Royal Tenenbaums: preorder cut-off is September 30, will ship by October 16

6) The Life Aquatic: preorder cut-off is November 30, will ship by December 14.

All instalments are available for preorder from January 8, 2025 until their respective cut-off dates. Extra sets will be available following pre-order cut-off until they are sold out. Since each instalment will ship at a different time, each instalment MUST be purchased separately (separate order/ check out for each one), both to ensure shipping costs are properly applied, and to streamline administrative/ organizational stuff for me. (Exceptions: if you are purchasing multiples of the same instalment, or are purchasing an extra set following it's pre-order cut-off along with an item that is currently available for pre-order.)

Washing and Care

Gently hand wash in cool water using a gentle product specifically made for washing woollens, such as Eucalan. Avoid heat and aggitation, and do not wash or soak your project for more than 15 minutes (even for blocking). Lay flat to dry.

Hand-dyed Yarn Tips

While every effort is made to ensure colour consistency, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, there will be some variation of the colours between batches, and from skein to skein even when dyed in the same pan. If making a garment with more than one skein, it is recommended to alternate your skeins to help blend out the differences from skein to skein.

Each skein is dyed using professional grade acid dyes and food grade citric acid. Following dyeing, yarn is rinsed thoroughly, and washed with unscented lanolin soap before being hung to dry. Some slight colour bleeding may still occur, especially in highly saturated colours. If you are planning a colorwork project, making and wet blocking a swatch prior to starting your project is recommended. Color catchers are amazing for sucking up excess dye, and adding a little bit of white vinegar or citric acid into your wash water can help dyes stay put. Steam blocking is an option that minimizes the risk of bleeding.

The acid dyes used to colour your yarn are considered to have good light-fastness, however, please store your yarn and finished projects out of direct sunlight.
